“What’s your why”? If you have ever sat in a meeting with a MLM leader – you’ve heard this phrase… and there’s a good reason for that… your why is important. Maybe the most important thing you understand in your business… but let’s really dive into all the ways we need to ask WHY.
As an entrepreneur, you have to know why.
Why you want to run a business? Why you want to help who you help? Why this business? Why is that on your list? Basically, I want you to be a 3 year old and ask WHY after everything.
The Whys You Need to Answer In Your Business
Why did you start your business?
Did you start this business for extra income? For more time freedom? To set your own hours? To take more vacations? I want you to get REALLY visual on this. Don’t just say – ‘I started this for my family’. You can’t feel that. Describe it. Why? What will you do with the extra income – get detailed with it. What will you do with your time? What does that mean to you? How do you want to feel. Get really raw with this. Write it out, put it in pictures, do whatever gives you the feels. Then hang it where you can see it. This will remind you on the tough days WHY you’re doing this.
Why do you help who you help?
First off this means you have to know who you help, specifically (if you don’t know this, please send me a message and let’s talk it thru). But why do you help them? What about this group of people sparks your passion – why do you want to help them. When you are able to describe WHY you help this specific person, your passion will come out. When they see how passionate you are about helping them specifically, they will want to work with you.
Why do you do what you do and why do you do it this way?
What is it that you do, that no one else does? What is your special sauce – why is it your special sauce? Get really familiar with the answer to this. What transformation will your ideal client get, and why? When you can connect with this why, it will set you apart from others in your niche – because you’ve now focused in on what makes you uniquely you. And no one can do you as well as you can!
Why is that on your list?
You have a to do list – either in your head, on paper, or digitally… so specifically think about your ‘to do list’ that you do regularly. Why are you doing each of those – are you doing them because you think you should be doing them OR do you know they work? The purpose behind your tasks should be crystal clear! Busy work won’t bring you success, purposeful, intentional, and strategic planning is what brings about growth – AND – also grants you the freedom from doing ‘all the things’. So, what’s your why? Do you know it? Can you share it?
I’d love to hear it – head to your IG stories, talk about one of your whys.. and tag me @kellihayessmith so I can share!
