If you’re only goal is 6 figure earner – let me just tell you… Happiness isn’t included.
Girl, I know that being a 6 figure earner in a job you love is the DREAM, and I am NOT saying that happiness isn’t possible as a 6 figure earner.. Because of course it is. What I am saying is, it’s not guaranteed.
There are a million reasons we go into business.. usually they revolve around some kind of freedom.. financial, time, creative.. But somewhere along the way, the entrepreneurial world tells us the big goal is X Figure Earner.
And trust me when I say, that’d be great.
But ya know what would be greater…
Being able to be at all my kid’s events.
Being able to have a day date with my husband every Thursday.
Be able to take as many vacations as we want.

All of those require me to make money in my business. They require me to structure my time in business to suit my desires. But those are the things that make me happy. Not a number on QuickBooks dashboard.
When I have a black and white number as a goal – it can get hard to celebrate. Especially if you didn’t hit it. But if you’re working to be happy… then celebrating even the small stuff… just feels right.
Today, I’m sharing 5 tips to goal set for happiness.
1. Think about what you’d do with the money, not the dollar amount.
Not only will this help you with experiences, and freedoms. It also gives a tangible and emotional response to your goals. This helps provide motivation – when you’re feeling stuck!
2. Set big goals AND set smaller goals.
I will always encourage you to DREAM BIG! No matter what that looks like, but I am also encouraging to think about some smaller goals. Like taking a day off every week to take your kids on a date, or 1 weekend away with your husband each month.
3 Celebrate each victory, no matter how ‘small’.
Start creating a victory plan. How will you celebrate when you have a gain in your business. Each time someone new signs up for your course, go get a doughnut. For every new client you sign, head to Dunkin’ for coffee. Do something to recognize how far you’ve come each and every time you make a step forward.
4. Pay attention to the difference you’re making for others.
How does what you do make others feel? The value you provide your clients, your customers, your audience – it matters! Pay attention to the gains your clients are making, how you’re impacting their lives, and recognize your value! Set goals to help you provide more value for others.
5. Track your goals – keep up with your progress.
Make sure you’re holding yourself accountable to your goals! Track the habits that will get you there, celebrate with you do the thing – celebrate when you hit it! Keep your feet on the floor – and keep moving forward.
These tips will help you swap the old monetary mindset for a happiness mindset! This won’t hinder your financial growth – but it will help you stay happy while you’re growing!!
