Your ‘season’ will dictate your productivity, if you want to know how – and how to embrace it, you’re going to want to read this whole thing!

PRODUCTIVITY ISN’T ONE SIZE FITS ALL
Your productivity isn’t a one size fits all situation. Just because your sister Susie tackles a 3 page to do list (if she’s doing this have her call me), doesn’t mean that if you can’t you’re a failure. Your season will dictate your productivity.
First – let’s talk about what I mean when I say season.
When I says season, I mean your life season.
Think about what your life looks like right now, your kids, your home, your schedule – all of these determine your season.
If you’re kids are in school, and driving that’s a season.
If you have toddlers at home, that’s a season.
If your running an elementary kid to soccer and piano – that’s a season.
Here’s the thing – you’re life doesn’t look exactly like anyone else’s – so your productivity won’t either. This is why productivity books are hard, there isn’t a one size fits all approach. But there are strategies that will help you stay more productive.
And my number one tip – BE REALISTIC.
REALISTIC PRODUCTIVITY
To Doing yourself to death isn’t productive. Giving yourself more to do than hours in the day isn’t productive. And making a plan that doesn’t include all of your priorities, responsibilities, and purposes isn’t productive. You first have to be realistic about the time you have, and plan accordingly.
YOU CAN’T DO IT ‘ALL’ AT ONCE
Getting caught up in ‘all the things’ is easy to do. You don’t want to miss out, but sometimes you’re going to have to. You can do it all, you just can’t do it all at once. Really be thoughtful about the things that mean the most to you. Then put the blinders on. Don’t give away time that you want to devote to those priorities.
IT CHANGES
Your season changes, regularly. It maybe weekly, sometimes daily – but it is constantly changing. And that’s both the pro & con to this. You have to be on top of it. You have to know where you are. Productivity is really about knowing yourself – really well. But you aren’t stuck in one season very long.
EMBRACE YOUR SEASON
The key to starting this process is to plan with your season in mind.
Write out what you want your life to look like. Then write out the season your life is in now. What does that look like – what boundaries do you need to set with these things in mind?
Make your plans, set your goals, and choose tasks with both of these things in mind.
Then reassess frequently – consider what is or isn’t working, has anything changed? Make sure you answer those questions and change your plans accordingly!
Are you ready to embrace your season, and create a productivity plan that works for you, and helps you build a life you love!?
