So balance, it was something social media users hated on in 2021. I don’t know why, but I’m bound and determined to change the outlook on balance in 2022.
It is time to stop thinking of balance as an equal division of time, and start thinking of it as the sum parts of YOU as a whole.

What does that mean? It means we should stop thinking about balance as an equal division of time, and start thinking about balance as how it makes us whole.
What are the things that make you – you? What are your purpose(s)? What do you need to feel fulfilled & content.. those things – that is what we put in balance.
Balancing everything on your to do list – isn’t realistic. Balancing your priorities, isn’t only realistic – it is necessary.
I don’t think it is a coincidence that ‘all the things’ became a popular term at the same time that balance became a hated topic. You can’t balance ‘all the things’. And while we are at it, ‘all the things’ is a toxic mentality. If you’re living in an ‘all the things’ world – of course balance seems impossible… but balance isn’t the problem in this scenario, its the solution.
Pull back from all the things, and start focusing more – and that starts with building a priority set – or my signature method, CORE 4.
CORE 4 are the top 4 priority areas in your life. The areas you commit to intentionally spending time in, before anything else. You can create balance in your CORE 4.
Dividing up your time equally – isn’t realistic. Being in tune with what balance you need right now, isn’t only realistic – it is necessary.
Once you set your CORE 4, as you begin to balance that – don’t think it will look like 25/25/25/25. It won’t.
It will change, sometimes daily… and that is what balance is.
Having the freedom to put your time and energy where you are needed the most, and a plan that allows you to understand it all.
Expecting your balance will always feel comfortable – isn’t realistic. Having a plan that gives you peace, isn’t only realistic – it is necessary.
Understanding your balance doesn’t mean you’ll be cozy and cushy. Staying in your balance can be hard, it can mean sacrifices, it can mean saying no – sometimes even to yourself.
Without a plan to map out where your priorities will be met and how you will be intentional in your CORE 4 you can be left overwhelmed with the question ‘how will it all get done‘. Once you structure your days & weeks by your CORE 4, you can rest in your plan – and stay focused on your priorities.
Your plan will also let you know what time & energy you have to give away. Don’t give these valuable assets away without a plan to stay in balance with your CORE 4 – remember…
Girl’s night margaritas can be both self care, and an excuse to not do something else.. know yourself well enough to know the difference. Have a strong enough plan to know what you can do.
Balance got a tough rap in 2021 – but it needs to change. Because without balance – all we have left is burn out! And I don’t know about you, but I won’t take it!
