When the holiday season starts, your entire routine gets topsy turvy… the kids are home, there are parties, and shopping – nothing is ‘normal’.
Staying productive is harder than normal too. It maybe easy to get caught up in that third Hallmark movie (don’t judge), or tempting to stay scrolling the ‘gram in bed until noon – but you don’t have to throw in the towel on your productivity this holiday season.

I’m sharing 5 tips with you today to that will both keep you productive and save your sanity.. let’s dig in.
5 Tips to Save Your Productivity and Your Sanity This Holiday Season
1. Set an alarm or don’t, but when you wake up – get up.
If you don’t want to set an alarm this holiday season – I say go for it! But when you’re awake, resist the urge to lay in bed… put you’re feet on the floor.
2. Get ready for the day, whatever that means.
I’m not advocating wearing makeup every day… and I’m certainly not anti elastic waisted pants… create a ‘get ready’ routine for those lounge days. Change out of your pajamas – and switch to your most comfortable joggers… but do something to let your brain know that sleep is over, and the day has started.
3. Continue a morning routine.
It may start later, and it maybe shorter – but stay in the habit of doing some kind of morning routine. Before you get too deep into the holiday season, make a plan for what your abbreviated routine will look like, and a plan for how you will get it done.
4. When you set down to watch a movie or scroll your phone, set a timer.
Don’t lose your time, I’m a total advocate for taking it easy and watching a movie.. but commit to getting up when it’s done. Set the timer on your phone, or snag one from the gift guide I posted last week, and get up when it goes off. Even if it is just to switch the laundry to the dryer – get up.
5. Allow yourself to slow down.
Rest is productive. It allows you to recharge & refuel. Take advantage of a slower pace. Allow your schedule to reflect a slow down. Allow your task list to reflect a slow down. Take time to soak in your family, enjoy the twinkling lights of your tree, enjoy the fireplace flicker – don’t miss out on the moment.
Give yourself grace when it isn’t all done – remember GLASS BALLS & RUBBER BALLS.
